Early Season 2012
Early Season Update
Several of us attended the pool sessions put on by the Philadelphia Canoe Club at the St Joe's University Pool this winter.
We've all been paddling whitewater a few seasons now and it's time to get that bombproof roll down and breakthrough to the next level!
In the top photo is Andrea Kornbluh in her blue Liquid Logic Remix 59.
The middle photo shows Keith Reed adjusting his helmet in his Liquid Logic Remix 59.
The paddlers chillin' in the bottom photo are John Tannock (left) and Mike Ein.
We're all looking forward to a great season and lots of rolling practice. Ideally, we'll incorporate a few rolls into every outing.
It's a great time to look ahead and set goals. I often find that my future goals arise from past blunders. In August 2008 I paddled the loop in Ohiopyle at the urging of my guide. Well, I wasn't prepared and got a pretty good thrashing. My goal is to return to Ohiopyle late season with a proven roll and paddle the Loop.
At least one paddler has found me through this blog. I hope we paddle together soon. I'm always game for the Lehigh and the creeks when there's rain, but sometimes regular life does get in the way of paddling (sigh).
